T-Mac’s Run 5K Run and Memorial Walk at Baldwin Harbor Park
The Tyler McKenzie (TMAC) Memorial Fund’s 3rd Annual charity 5K run and memorial walk takes place in Baldwin.
About the cause: Proceeds from this event will support innovative kidney cancer research, cancer patient advocacy and various scholarships. The signature beneficiary for this year's event will be Gold Ribbon Children’s Cancer Research Center in Tokyo. In 2016, Tyler was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer, translocation renal cell carcinoma. When it progressed to stage 4 in 2020, he remained in good spirits and fought until the end. He passed away on August 12, 2022, at the age of 28. Before he passed, he wanted to become an advocate for helping other young people navigate a cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care. T-Mac’s Run will provide us the opportunity to come together to celebrate Tyler, raise awareness about cancers affecting our community all while raising funds for a cure to eradicate this disease.
