This Kit & Combat interactive program at Veterans Memorial Hall is designed for visitors of all ages, offering a hands-on look at the personal gear, weapons, and survival tools of the U.S. Army G.I. Through engaging storytelling, artifacts, and reproductions, participants will explore the essential equipment that shaped a soldier’s experience on the front lines. From the weight of a full pack to the purpose of a mess kit, every item tells a story of ingenuity, endurance, and sacrifice.

This program is ideal for families, history lovers, and curious minds, as it brings the history of World War II off the exhibit wall and into your hands.

Led by Tim Van Wickler, the Director of Operations & Programs of the Southampton History Museum. Tim currently serves as a Staff Sergeant in the NY Army National Guard.
