Dia de los Muertos Family Celebration Celebration at the Heckscher Museum of Art
Families are invited to learn about and celebrate Dia de los Muertos at this special event at The Heckscher Museum in collaboration with the Town of Huntington Hispanic Advisory Task Force.
Meet artists Sueey Gutierrez, Brianna L. Hernández, and Manuel Alejandro Macarrulla and create colorful works of art inspired by the celebration. Activities throughout the day will include mask-making, designing your own memorial, flower-making, and more.
Watch the documentary Strong Yaqui Women by Miroslava Gonzalez. Enjoy churros and hot chocolate donated by the Town of Huntington Hispanic Advisory Task Force.
Bring your own photographs or other personal items to leave at our ofrenda, to honor and remember your loved ones.
The ofrenda will remain on view in the Museum’s central gallery during regular open hours on Sunday, November 3 from 12 to 5 pm.
- At 1 pm & 3 pm: Learn about the ofrenda with Latina Moms Connect, Inc.
- At 2 pm & 4 pm: Meet Miroslava Gonzalez and watch her documentary Strong Yaqui Women
