Branching Out is an original immersive theater production with music and dance.
It is designed for audiences on the autism spectrum and those who may have
limited movement, sensory and/or complex communication needs. Branching Out encourages audiences to embrace adventure and celebrate change, while exploring sensory experiences and the wonder of the four seasons. Audiences will participate in a variety of sensory experiences-such as feeling the cold of winter, smelling the flowers of spring, catching fireflies in the summer and more! Participation is optional and customized for each participant. Audience size is limited to 20 participants. Tickets are reserved through a Google form that gets sent to the Arts Education Department.  This is an original production, produced and created by Tilles Center for the Performing Arts.

February 28 and March 1, 2026:

  • 11am performances are reserved for ages 3-11
  • 1pm performances are reserved for ages 12+
  • 3pm performances are reserved for ages 3-11

Sensory Immersion Theater is specifically designed for individuals on the autism spectrum and is an intimate, multi-sensory experience. Each performance is offered for a limited number of audience members and their caregivers. Participants are invited to be a part of the action, moving around the performance space, singing, dancing, and having sensory experiences.

Sensory Friendly Programming sponsored, in part, by The Fay J. Lindner Foundation. Additional funding provided by the New York Community Trusty – Long Island.
