Join the Cradle of Aviation Museum this April school break for its Annual Astronomy & Space Day.

  • The Amateur Observer’s Society (AOS) helps the Cradle celebrates with solar scopes (weather permitting), talks, and demos! Astronomy and Telescopes - 12-4 pm, free with museum admission
  • Thinking of getting a telescope? Ask the experts! AOS will answer any questions you have about star gazing on Long Island.
  • Planetarium Shows (separate admission required ($7 add-on with paid museum admission) This immersive full-dome planetarium is one of the world's largest and most powerful virtual reality experiences.
    • Show Schedule:
      • 11am - One World, One Sky: Explore the night sky with your favorite friends from Sesame Street in One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure.
      • 12pm: Cities of the Future: Narrated by John Krasinski, the film combines state-of-the-art CGI with live-action cinematography to glimpse a sustainable future.
      • 1pm - Space Lab: Space Labs are live interactive shows in the Planetarium. Each session features two unique 20-minute programs from local astronomers.
      • 3pm - Unseen Universe: Telescopes help humans explore the universe in ways we have never seen before
