Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest and Folk Festival
King Gillette Ranch plays host to an old-time bluegrass, folk song, folk dancing, and crafts festival. Instrumental and singing contestants perform on three stages, with performances by AJ Lee & Blue Summit, The Way Down Wanderers, Grupo Bella, Hillary Klug, Water Tower, and many others. The Family Stage hosts kid-friendly performers including Peter Alsop, The Hollow Trees, Happy Campers, and SMMUSD Student Mariachi Band and Student Folklorico Dancers.
Kids can get a feel for music at the Instrument Petting Zoo.
Families can strut their stuff at the Dance Barn, with workshops and contests in various styles, including square dancing, flamenco dancing, and step dancing. Bring your instrument to participate in jams.
Contests start at 9am, featured performances start at noon, and there is jamming all day.
Parking is free.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online.
(Note: The festival is usually held at Paramount Ranch, but due to construction it is being held at King Gillette Ranch this year).
