What makes Liberty Fest truly special is the vibrant multicultural spirit of Southwest Houston. Our community is a melting pot of cultures, with thriving neighborhoods like Sharpstown, Chinatown, Mahatma Gandhi District/Little India, Westwood, Harwin, and University all contributing to our rich tapestry. This unique celebration honors the diversity that makes our community strong, inviting residents and guests to enjoy a free, multi-cultural Independence Day event that embodies the very essence of liberty.
Liberty Fest is unlike any other Independence Day celebration because it brings together the diverse cultures of Southwest Houston to celebrate freedom and unity. Every year, our community showcases its rich heritage, turning Liberty Fest into a vibrant tapestry of traditions, cuisines, and performances from around the world. It’s a day where everyone, regardless of their background, comes together to honor the principles that unite us all.
Families can look forward to:
- 45 diverse vendors, including a mouthwatering array of food options representing various cultures.
- A spectacular tribute performance to Shakira by singer Diana Torres.
- Enchanting melodies from the Woodland Symphony horns.
- Energetic and colorful performances by the HPD Lion Dancers.
- Entertaining clowns for the kids.
- Authentic mariachi music by Pearla Tapatia.
- A dynamic performance by Grupo Migrante.
- A breathtaking 16-minute fireworks display, hailed as one of the best in the city.
Kids will be thrilled with the dedicated Kids Zone featuring entertainment and games. As the sun sets, our grand fireworks show at 9 PM will light up the sky, concluding the festivities on a high note.
