Kids STEAM Workshop at North Shepherd Brewing
Launch with Levers, Secure with Screws, and Work with Wedges in this hands-on, educational STEAM workshop: Machines
Children discover how simple machines make our lives easier. They learn about the six different types of simple machines: the screw, lever, inclined plane, wedge, pulley, and wheel and axle. Children launch with levers, secure with screws, and work with wedges through hands-on activities! A large child-operated pulley system demonstrates how pulleys help us move heavy objects easily.
North Shepherd Brewing is proud to partner with Mad Science Houston for this incredible workshop. Parents do not have to be involved in the workshop, but they do need to be in the taproom during the workshop.
Mad Science is the world's leading provider of fun, entertaining and educational science programs for children aged 3 to 12. Our mission is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children everywhere by providing them with fun and entertaining activities that instill a clear understanding of what science is really about and how it affects the world around them.
Our content introduces and reinforces STEM concepts at the
preschool and elementary levels. We focus on chemistry, physics and biology topics that meet local, regional and national science curriculum standards. Our programs feature hands-on experimentation that encourages children to “do science,” not just watch it happen.
Mad Science workshops are hands-on and inquiry-based to ensure that children are provided with opportunities to actively participate in the process of scientific discovery. Workshops are correlated to National science Education Standards and are guaranteed to make learning science fun!
Tickets are $10 per child and can be purchased in advance or on site.
