Elders, traditional dancers, community members, and the public are invited to participate in Azteca/Mexica dance led by Calmecac Tonantzin Yolilitzyotl, as well as a water blessing along Buffalo Bayou, a pipe ceremony, traditional songs, and acknowledgment of the land that has been home to indigenous communities for thousands of years. The ceremonies will include special guest speaker Elder Lucille Contreras, Founder, and CEO of the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project.
