Families with Pride returns this year, celebrating love, inclusivity, and community with all-new activities for all ages. The event welcomes LGBTQIA+ families, children, and allies for a joyful morning of connection and fun.

Created by Council Member Abbie Kamin in partnership with the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, the Mayor’s Office of Special Events, and Discovery Green®, this free event has quickly become one of the city’s most anticipated family gatherings.

Activities Include:

• A Kids Costume Party with prizes from Michael’s Cookie Jar
• A Proud Puppy Paw-ty & Costume Contest at 11 a.m.
• Pride Storytime at 9:30 a.m.
• Special performances by the Pride Band
• Plus arts & crafts, face painting, magicians, balloon & bubble artists, jugglers, stilt walkers, and a live DJ

Families can also enjoy Discovery Green’s playgrounds and fountains, snap photos at giant LOVE and HOU letters, a rainbow balloon arch, and an oversized puppy installation, and explore community booths with partners like Hi Red Bird, Houston Parks Department, The Montrose Center, Equality Texas, Legacy Community Health, and the Banner Project with UH & Rice. Food trucks and vendors will be on-site with plenty of treats.
