Cinco De Mayo Celebration at Children's Museum Houston
Celebrate Mexican culture and our neighbors to the south on this special day with music, crafts and activities.
Mariachi Jarabe Tapatio: Renowned for their lively renditions of Mexican folk music, will grace the stage to help celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Dressed in vibrant charro suits, the ensemble will showcase traditional instruments such as trumpets, violins, and guitars, transporting the audience to the heart of Mexican culture. With their spirited performances and captivating melodies, Mariachi Jarabe Tapatio promises an unforgettable experience steeped in the rich heritage of Mexico.

DIY Pinata Art Workshop: Enjoy these traditional dances in celebration of Cinco de Mayo
Location: Alexander Art Academy
When: Every half hour from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm
Las Americas Ballet Folklorico: This year we are a Sweet Spot host for Lemonade Day Houston. A youth entrepreneur will set up their lemonade stand to sell to visitors/passers-by.

Joy Goes to Mexico: This adventure follows Jose and his dog Coco as they lead Joy around their hometown in Mexico. Joy Saxton brings the story life with puppets, a gigantic book, and audience participation! Learn about Mexico and the importance of kindness.

The Essence of Mexico by Mixteco Ballet Folklorico: This ballet group presents dances from the Northern State of Nuevo Leon. Dances include "Zapatea-dos", "The Polka", and "Huapangos Nortenos".
