Celebrate the year of the Rat by participating in the famous Lunar New Year Parade in Flushing, Queens. Parade route: Union St and 37th Ave and usually ends at Main St and 39th Ave.
The neighborhood's Lunar New Year Parade is a huge draw each year, with vibrant costumes, floats, dancing and traditional Chinese celebrations. Start off with a warm-up reception of coffee and doughnuts at St. George's church (135-33 39th Ave.) at 9:30am, and then march over to the parade site at Union Street and 37th Avenue. The parade will begin at approximately 11am.
