I Love My Park Day
The first weekend in May is the statewide "I Love My Park Day," when volunteers throughout New York step up to help clean and beautify state parks, beaches, and historic sites. Tasks could include gardening, removal of invasive vines or weeds, general cleanup, and more.
Participating sites in the Westchester/Hudson Valley area include Bear Mountain, Old Croton Aqueduct State Historic Site, Rockefeller State Park Preserve, FDR State Park, Walkway Over the Hudson, and Jay Heritage Center, among others.
Food and drink are not provided so best to pack your own. Volunteers may be asked to bring their own tools.
Note that the schedule, age requirements, and tasks vary by site. Details available at registration.
