Cat in the Hat Ball
Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday at the Cat in the Hat Ball with children’s games, crafts, music and story times. The event is open to the public and free with a donation of one new children’s book for local schools and early childcare centers or $5 per family.
Local well-known writer Tish Rabe, author of “The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library,” a series of rhyming science books for early readers, will read and sign books. Other local authors will also join in the fun, sharing their books with young readers. Music will be provided by Radio Mitchell, and the Community Dance Ensemble will perform at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Presented by the Mitchell College Education Department and Early Childhood Education Club, the event, now in its nineteenth year, also includes refreshments available for purchase. Snow date is Sunday, March 1, 2020, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit Mitchell.edu/news-events.
