The 53rd Annual Seymour Pumpkin Festival will take place (rain or shine) at French Memorial Park and offers carnival rides & games, entertainment, petting zoo, children’s contests, arts & craft vendors, and food booths run by local civic, school, and non-profit organizations.
Entrance to the Festival is free.
For the safety of our vendors, visitors, and volunteers, please do not bring bikes, skates, skateboards, hover boards, OR PETS into the park on Festival Day (registered service animals only). The Festival will host approximately 100 booths this year featuring craft vendors selling comic book crafts, seasonal and holiday wreaths, large & small wood crafts, hand-sewn soft goods, handmade jewelry, garden art, birdhouse gourds, carnivorous plants, and much more.
Feast on Festival favorites like pumpkin pie, fried dough, liver/bacon/onion sandwiches, egg sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, and also Greek specialties, soft ice cream, Italian ice, cannolis, and other sweet & savory treats.
The Royal Court, featuring 2nd and 3rd grade student representatives from Chatfield-LoPresti School, enters the park at 10:00 a.m. to kick off the festivities. This year’s Royal Court participants are: (King) Daniel Rogers; (Queen) Ana David; (Pumpkin Prince) Colt Stanis; (Pumpkin Princess) Claire Losee; (Prince Charming) Wyatt DeRosa; and (Cinderella) Olivia O’Meara.
All children’s contests and raffle activities take place near the Headquarters & Souvenir Booth, located behind the first-base dugout, and are held throughout day. Entries for the Pumpkin Decorating Contest must be delivered by noon for judging at 12:30 p.m. The children’s Costume Contest will begin at noon. The “Pick of the Patch” is a tea-cup raffle showcasing craft items donated by vendors and tickets are $1 for 2, or $5 for 12. Children can also enter a free “Guess the Goodies” treat contest.
There is an expanded selection of children’s carnival rides and ticket books are available. The Blue Collar Band, Orange CT-based musicians, will rock the park with crowd favorites from classics to contemporary, and dance routines will be performed by Aimee’s Academy of Dance. Two-by-Two Zoo (the Zoo with the Roo) will be on-site with their exciting barnyard and exotic animals (kangarooon-site for viewing only). Admission to the petting zoo is $5.00 for unlimited visits. New this year is a Little Scientist booth sponsored by Southern Connecticut Dental Group.
Street parking is limited and free shuttle bus service is available from Chatfield-LoPresti School, 51 Skokorat Street. Paid parking areas are not affiliated with the Association. The Seymour Pumpkin Festival Association is a 501(c)3organization with the purpose of providing a venue for local civic organizations and non-profits raise funds while providing a wholesome form of family entertainment.
