Tellabration! An International Oral Tradition
Tellabration is a mammoth storytelling event-and that's no Tall Tale. It's a storytelling phenomenon, made up of dozens of storytelling happenings all over the world. It's purpose is to introduce adults, as well as children, to the pleasures of the oral art of storytelling. It is one of the programs offered by The Connecticut Storytelling Center, based in New London.
Jane (Susie)Scheyder grew up in the Midwest, lived for years in the South, and now calls New England her home. Susie will tell several stories, two of which will be from her children's books: One More Thing, about a boy who puts off bedtime, and How Will You Change the World?. In How Will You Change the World? she will lead children to all seven continents, showing how animals take care of the continents, the animals that share them with us, the colors of the visible spectrum, and our responsibility and opportunity to take care of our environment. Susie and her husband raised five children and live in southeastern Connecticut.
