  • Hats Off to Connecticut - Families will go on a scavenger hunt through the museum, make hats using a variety of materials, and learn how hats throughout history can tell us about the style, interests, and jobs of people in Connecticut.
  • Learning the Landscapes -  Families will look closely at objects made from natural resources, play games, “paddle” in a dugout canoe, and more!
  • Dressing Up the Past - Families will practice the many skills needed to make clothing, including “sewing,” carding wool, and using drop spindles to make yarn and learn all about looms with members of the Hartford Artisans Weaving Center.
  • Artists Toolbox - What tools do artists need to create their works of art? Families will look closely at artist’s tools from the Museum’s collection
