The whole family can celebrate National Robotics Week during the Robot Block Party at the Museum of Science and Industry, featuring every kind of robot imaginable, and showcasing cool robots designed by Chicago-area student and amateur teams.

April 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14

9:30 A.M. – 2 P.M. AT MAIN LEVEL

University students will present their cutting-edge work in robotics and share their pathway into the field. Interact with a robotic wheelchair, robotic arm and a Mars Rover prototype!

Plus, drop into Drone Pilot School to learn how to fly drones indoors.

April 6, 7, 13, 14

9:30 A.M. – 2 P.M. AT MAIN LEVEL

Student teams, in grades K-12, show off their robots for one of four weekend days of fun. Teams will demonstrate their robots, run live competitions on the Museum floor and will ignite your interest in robotics.

12:30 – 2 P.M. AT WEST PAVILION

See self-driving cars in action! Who will get their passenger safely to their destination? High school teams put their creations to the test in the autonomous vehicle competition. Witness how well their vehicles navigate and weather the elements through a maze-like obstacle course while keeping their passenger safe and dry.

April 14

9:30 A.M. – 2 P.M. AT MAIN LEVEL

Chicago Police Department’s Bomb Squad will demonstrate the advanced technology utilized to keep people safe. See the bomb squad robot in action and speak to officers about their career.
