The Eliot Pearson Children's School is the laboratory-demonstration program of the Eliot Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. The summer program reflects the school's integration of play and learning. It focuses on the whole child and the development of creativity and the arts through a child-centered, project-based approach to learning. The program staff includes alumni and graduate and undergraduate students from the Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. Students engage in art activities, music and movement, and gardening in addition to engaging project- and interest-based activities throughout the day. They swim daily at the Tisch Atheltic Complex pool supervised by staff and lifeguards who engage them in group and individual water play activities. Students take full advantage of the natural playground and enjoy lots of outdoor water play and exploration.
