Oakland Cemetery is providing free guided tours of the African American Burial Grounds.

The African American Burial Grounds tour of Oakland Cemetery begins at the Bell Tower and gives visitors a tour of the grave sites of Atlanta pioneers, such as Maynard Jackson, Atlanta’s first African American mayor and Carrie Steele Logan, founder of Atlanta’s first orphanage for African American children.
