Dress warm to watch "Spencer," the stuffed animal possum, drop from the sky in Tallapoosa, just an hour's drive west of Atlanta. The family-friendly New Year's Eve event features live bands, food trucks, and carnival rides. 

Families with younger children will want to attend the early drop and fireworks at 9pm in the Kids' Zone. Those with night owls and older kids can continue to listen to bands until the countdown at midnight.

No pets are allowed at the event. Because the music is loud, earplugs are recommended for children.
