The City of Decatur celebrates Lunar New Year with a festival feautring customs from all across Asia. "The Year of the Cabbit." What's a cabbit, you ask? It is a fictional combination of a rabbit and a cat. The event will have craft booths, food vendors, dance performances and more.

For most Asians, the year 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit. But for Vietnam, it’s the Year of the Cat. Decatur decided to create their own Lunar New Year Spirit Animal: the Cabbit. They even held a contest for who could illustrate the most auspicious Cabbit amongst all our young Decatur artists, and the winner was 9-year-old Emily Barcham whose drawing will be sold on a limited edition mug.

Schedule:

1-5pm Craft Booths, Food Vendors, and Marketplace
2pm Dance Performance by Atlanta Chinese Dance Company
3pm Lion Dance by Sang Anh Duong Lion & Dragon Dance Troupe
