Monterey Park pays tribute to the beauty of the Japanese culture with the Cherry Blossom Festival Virtual Event.
Among the activities that can be enjoyed at home are:
- Origami Demonstration via Zoom - ( April 18 at 4pm Pacific)
- Free Cherry Blossom craft kits (limited supply). Kits available on April 19 at the Bruggemeyer Library (318 S. Ramona Ave.)
- Free coloring pages of past Cherry Blossom Festival posters:
Geisha,. Samurai Warrior, and Kids Cherry Blossom - Japanese themed Diamond Paint Kits, ($5 per kit, limited supply).
- Cherry Blossom Virtual Paint Night, (April 23, 7pm Pacific, $45 paint supplies included. Must register by April 16)
- Children's Story Time with Library (April 16)
- Cherry Blossom Read-Aloud with award-winning author/illustrator Sunny Seki of his first story, The Tale of the Lucky Cat. (Link to come)
