The US Navy, US Marine Corps, and US Coast Guard's celebration of sea services is now in its 31st year. Fleet Week offers New Yorkers and visitors the opportunity to meet those who serve at sea and witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.

Tour ships, watch the Parade of Ships, enjoy exhibits, military band concerts, and aviation events throughout the week. The event has been held nearly every year since 1984, and it is anticipated that nearly 2,100 members of the US Navy, Marines and Coast Guard will participate this year.

Fleet Week Activities take place all around NYC through the end of the month. Unless otherwise noted, those below take place at the USS Intrepid. See the entire Fleet Week schedule on the organizers' website

Tuesday, May 21, 2019

2nd Annual Helicopter Landing at Miller Field
Time: 10am - noon
Location: Miller Field, 600 New Dorp Ln., Staten Island
The event kicks off with a fast rope demonstration conducted by a team of U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) members from Virginia Beach, Va. and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron NINE (HSC-9), known as the "Tridents," from Norfolk, Va. After the demonstration, various helicopters are available for tours. Plus: a musical performance by the U.S. Fleet Forces "Brass Band;" see various military and informational static displays, including World War I Commission and STEM education; meet military personnel, try on equipment and gear, and much more! Event is free and open to the public.

Navy Band Concert in Central Park
Time: Noon - 1:15pm
Location: Central Park Naumburg Bandshell - Terrance Dr., near 72nd St., Manhattan
Navy Band Northeast's "Pops Ensemble" perform a concert at the Central Park Naumburg Bandshell. Event is free and open to the public.

Parade of Ships
Time: 12-2pm
The Parade of Ships signals the start of 2019 Fleet Week New York. The ships can be seen along the Hudson River from Battery Park to just south of the George Washington Bridge.

Manhattan Navy Band
Time: Noon - 1pm
Location: Washington Square Park Arch, W. 4th Street, Greenwich Village
The Northeast's "Ceremonial Band" performs a concert at the Arch at Washington Square Park. Event is free and open to the public.

Navy Band Concert at South Street Seaport
Time: 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Location: South Street Seaport, 12 Fulton St., Manhattan
U.S. Fleet Forces "Brass Band" performs a concert at the Arch at the South Street Seaport. Event is free and open to the public.

Ship tours are held on Pier 88 and the Staten Island Homeport Pier. Notice to guests, electronic smoking devices are prohibited. Additionally, all guests over the age of 18 will be required to show a valid photo I.D. Events are free and open to the public.

Annual Fleet Week Freedom Run
Time: 8am - 10:30am
Location: North Cove Marina to 9/11 Memorial Plaza
The annual Fleet Week Freedom Run is a 1.7 mile fun run through financial district and culminating at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. Event is free and open to the public to view.

General Public Ship Tours (Pier 86)
Time: 10am - 3pm
Location: Pier 86 (Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum) in Manhattan
Ship tours (U.S. Coast Guard only) will be held on Pier 86. Notice to guests, electronic smoking devices are prohibited. Additionally, all guests over the age of 18 will be required to show a valid photo I.D. Tours will close early due to a scheduled private event. Events are free and open to the public. Tours do not require museum admission.

Location: Military Island, Times Square (43-44 St. Plaza)
U.S. Navy divers dive in the Navy Dive Tank right in Times Square throughout the day. Come by and play tic-tac-toe, see their gear, take photos and learn about U.S. Navy Divers. Event is free and open to the public.

NYPD/U.S. Navy Association Remembrance Ceremony and Celebration
Time: 10am - noon
Location: NYPD Headquarters Auditorium, One Police Plaza, Manhattan
NYPD/U.S. Navy Association will honor fallen Sailors and police officers during a remembrance ceremony in the NYPD Headquarters Auditorium. Event is free and open to the public.

Navy Band Concert
Time: 8pm - 9:15pm

Navy Band Northeast's "Rhode Island Sound" performs a concert at Military Island in Times Square. Event is free and open to the public.

Marine Day in Prospect Park

The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) hosts Marine Day in Prospect Park, featuring interactive and aviation static displays, demonstrations, and a performance by the USMC Battle Color Detachment. Event is free and open to the public.

Side By Side Military Appreciation
Time: Noon - 5pm
Location: Rockefeller Center, 45 Rockefeller Plaza, Manhattan
Musical performances and numerous military static displays are on the Rockefeller Center plaza. Event is free and open to the public.

U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue Demonstration
Time: Noon - 12:30pm
Location: Homeport Pier, Staten Island
U.S. Coast Guard conducts a Search and Rescue demonstration in the vicinity of the water off of the Staten Island Homeport Pier for visitors to see. Event is free and open to the public.

Navy Band Concert
Time: 6pm - 7:15pm
Location: Military Island, Times Square (43-44 St. Plaza)
Navy Band Northeast's "Rhode Island Sound" performs a concert at Military Island in Times Square. Event is free and open to the public.

U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment Performance
Time: 8 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Location: Times Square (Father Duffy Square, 7th Ave & W 47th St.)
The U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment performs in Times Square (Father Duffy Square) for the general public in front of the TKTS red steps. Event is free and open to the public.

Location: Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (in the Red Hook Community) in Brooklyn and the Homeport Pier in Staten Island only

Liberty State Park Fleet Week 1 Mile Fun Run & 5K Race

Location: Liberty State Park, 200 Morris Pesin Dr., Jersey City, NJ
New this year ... bring out the family and take part in a 1 Mile Fun Run and 5K community run during the annual Fleet Week at Liberty State Park, hosted by City Challenge Races, then stay and enjoy the festivities throughout the day! Register for the runs in advance.

4th Annual Fleet Week at Liberty State Park
Time: Noon - 5pm
Location: Liberty State Park, 200 Morris Pesin Dr., Jersey City, NJ
Join the U.S. Navy (USN), U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) as they showcase the latest capabilities of today's maritime services. Event includes a performance by U.S. Fleet Forces "Brass Band;" USN and USMC helicopter static displays; USN Dive Tank; USO; USMC Martial Arts Program demonstration and pull-up challenge; USCG Search and Rescue demonstration; USCG Silent Drill Team and USMC Battle Color Detachment performances; military static displays, including Stewards of the Sea, World War I Commission, Submarine Forces, USMC ordnance and vehicles; kids activities, bounce houses and face painting, food trucks and much more! Event is free and open to the public.

Youth City Challenge at Liberty State Park
Time: 1:30pm - 4pm, Registration begins at 1pm
Location: Liberty State Park, 200 Morris Pesin Dr., Jersey City, NJ New this year ... bring out the family and challenge yourself in a 1 Mile - 10 Obstacle Course designed for youth ages 5-12 during the annual Fleet Week at Liberty State Park hosted by City Challenge Races. Register in advance to participate.

Annual Fleet Week Music Festival
Time: Noon - 6pm
Location: Flagship Brewery, 140 Minthorne St., Staten Island
The Flagship Brewery and community members host their annual music festival in honor of Fleet Week. Local bands are scheduled to perform. Event is free and open to the public.

Family Sunday at Citi Field
Time: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Citi Field, 123-01 Roosevelt Ave., Queens
See military static displays on the plaza, then stay for the game as the New York Mets take on the Detroit Tigers, and also see a flyover with FA-18 Hornets from NAS Oceana, Navy Band Northeast singer performing the national anthem, and honor Lucille Posner, a former 2nd class petty officer who served as part of Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) in World War II as the "Veteran of the Game."

Annual Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony takes place at Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Manhattan. Event is free and open to the public.

Intrepid Memorial Day Commemoration
Time: 11am - 1pm
Location: Manhattan, New York (12th Ave. & 46th St. Pier 86N)
Honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice serving in the armed forces. Join hundreds of veterans, representing wars and conflicts from WWII to the present. Event is free and open to the public.

U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue Demonstration
Time: 2pm - 2:30pm
