Long Island Ballet Theatre presents its 33rd annual Nutcracker Ballet.
The Long Island Ballet Theatre (LIBT) (formerly Huntington Ballet Theatre), founded by Jan Hanniford Goetz and Sandra Forsythe and now under the artistic leadership of Jason Summers presents one of the seasons most professional and dazzling productions.
This year principal roles such as Snow Queen, Dew Drop, Arabian & Spanish will be danced by young, effervescent talent hailing from Sara Knight's conservatory in NYC (SLK Ballet) and from Huntington Ballet Academy located at Huntington Center for Performing Arts in Huntington Village. Dancing the role of Chinese will be Cold Spring Harbor HS senior, Adelaide Phillips and Huntington High School sophomore, Samantha Perillie, will dance the role of Arabian. Dancing Clara on Pointe will be Farmingdale HS Freshman Kaitlyn Petkus.
Joining them will be professionals from NYC such as Antonio Fini (Michael Mao, Martha Graham) dancing the role of Herr Drosselmaier, Antonio Cangiano (Ballet Hispanico) and Alessio Crognale (Ballet Hispanico) dancing the Trepac, Snow Cavalier, Soldier Doll and The Nutcracker.
This version is perfect for young children as it is slightly abridged and narrated running 1 hour and 15 minutes. Performances: 2pm and 6pm.
