A Memorial Day weekend tradition comes to a close as Rolling Thunder rides for the las time from the Pentagon through Washington DC on this special weekend.
The Rolling Thunder "Ride for Freedom" is the most massive motorcycle run ever organized. The rally was fist organized in 1988 to honor servicemen left band as prisoners of war and has grown to ore than 500,000 riders. The ride is held by the non profit group, Rolling Thunder Inc., and due to security concerns and costs this is the last year it will run. The ride starts at the Pentagon parking lot, and passes over the Memorial Bridge, ending their ride at the Vietnam Memorial. The event is loud, and ear protection is advised for small children.
