Greene Towne Montessori School

Greene Towne Montessori School is dedicated to providing a stimulating learning environment for children ages 18 months to 6 years, consistent with the values and principles developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. Greene Towne’s curriculum is designed to develop each child’s full human potential—emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially—and to foster a life-long love of learning. Greene Towne is accredited by the American Montessori Society and the PA Association of Independent Schools.

Greene Towne was founded by a small group of families dedicated to the Montessori method. Doors opened in the fall of 1966 at Saint Clement's Church with the goal to have a "racially, religiously, and economically integrated school." In the fall of 2001, after 35 years leasing space, Greene Towne moved to what is now its East Campus on Arch Street. In the fall of 2008, the school opened its West Campus on Croskey Street.
