This was the first daycare my daughter ever attended. We initially fell in love with the caring teachers and things were great for the first few months. Then things unexpectedly took a turn for the worst. All of the issues stem from the owner and her poor leadership, namely her ability to communicate with parents and problem solve in a way that ensures the best interests of children and staff. I approached the owner to ask questions about abrupt staff turnover, lack of communication about said turnover, and the impact of turnover on classroom ratios. The owner’s response was nothing short defensive, combative, and simply dishonest. During a parent meeting with families who shared similar concerns, she shared that the center was overstaffed despite the recent turnover. The following day, she proceeded to unenroll over 50% of infants from their program citing staffing shortages. The impacted families had all expressed concerns so it was clear that she wanted to retaliate. As a K-12 administrator, I know firsthand that no school is perfect or without challenges. However, the owner cannot be trusted and has made clear that she has ZERO care or concern for children or parents who simply want the best for their children. No parent deserves to be treated poorly or to feel like they have to stay silent for fear of losing childcare. Enroll your child somewhere cares about your kids. Until there is a change in management, TJT is NOT that place!
