Mid Florida Milers - Walk Orlando Creative Village and S College Park
The Mid Florida Milers Walking Club prootes recreational walking for fun and fitness and have done so for over 33 years. The club is hosting a walk around downtown Orlando's Creative Village and South College Park Neighborhoods.
The Start and Finish for the walk is the Marks Street Senior Recreation Center parking lot: Marks Street Senior Rec Center, 99 E Marks St. Orlando, FL 32803. Participants should register any time between 8:30-9:15 am. Walks are open to the public and to all ages.
Walkers can choose either a 6K (3.7 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles) loop and walk at their own pace. Printed directions with map are provided PLEASE CARRY WATER.
The 6K focuses on the new Creative Village which includes the downtown campuses of UCF and Valencia College and the recently opened Luminary Green. In addition to the Creative Villge, the 10K explores the relaxing environment of South College Park and Lakes Concord, Adair and Ivanhoe.
The walk is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are allowed on a leash.The fee is $3 for all walkers. Minors under 13 may walk for free unless they are walking for IVV/AVA credit. Contact: Dave Piatt: 407.295.2968, dmp1027@aol.com
