Another fun month at Mommy Poppins: I was interviewed for a fun article about how to not spoil your kids during the holidays that ran all over the country. I even had some country radio guys in Minnesota try to trick me into coming onto their morning zoo show so they could make farting sounds at me. We welcomed two new contributors, Dani Finkel and our Granny Poppins, Sharon Kleinhandler. We had an amazing week of giveaways, with prizes from The Dish's Dishes, Via Toy Box, Blush Topless Undershirts, and more. And...today we have a giveaway going on for a Craftsbury Kids Gift Certificate. After the top posts, read on for some important reminders and a great activity for this weekend. I am still trying to get make the toy swap happen, but I haven't been able to confirm a location. I will keep you updated. Sorry for the difficulties, but I am still thinking we can do it in the next week or two so start cleaning out those toy chests. Instead of swapping this weekend, how about taking the kids to a wonderful movie. The Red Balloon is playing at BAM only for the next couple of weekends. The Red Balloon is a beautiful film about a boy's magical friendship with a red balloon. It is a French film, but no translation is necessary for this magical movie. I remember seeing it at The Jefferson Market Library when I was a kid and I still get chills thinking about it. It's playing in a double feature with White Mane, which I honestly don't know much about but you can read about both films in The New York Times. Lastly, don't forget today is the last chance to enter in our sponsor, College Nannies and Tudors', Win a Night Out Contest. Just click on their ad in the sidebar and send them an email today and you could very well win a night of free babysitting. People have been so distracted with the other contests, I don't think many people have entered, so your chances of winning are very good. New readers, or old, if you are confused about how to enter any of these contests please email me. Don't be embarrassed I get these emails all the time. It can be confusing until you get used to it. Or if you have any questions about the site feel free to email me. I love hearing from you guys.
