Winston Preparatory School
Winston Preparatory School Long Island is a leading school network serving students through grade 12 with learning differences, including dyslexia, executive functioning difficulties (ADHD), and nonverbal learning disorders (NVLD).
Winston Prep groups students based on their learning difficulty, skill level, educational and social-emotional needs. This allows teachers to develop a curriculum that meets each student's skill and content needs in a small group. The diagnostic part of this process is ongoing so that the dynamic nature of each learning profile can be understood and addressed. At Winston Prep, this is referred to as the Continuous Feedback System. This system provides an instructional model for maximizing the educational experience for students, requiring educators and students to assess, understand, and design skill-based academic and social-emotional curricula or plan actions based on understanding and evaluating responses. Students also receive one-to-one remediation sessions daily through Winston Prep’s Focus program, targeting areas of greatest need.
At Winston Prep, students feel understood– often for the first time. This unique learning methodology gives students the tools to become confident, independent learners.
