Summer Fun at the Connecticut Trolley Museum
- see all dates
Summertime is the best time to visit the Connecticut Trolley Museum. Visit once or all summer long, the museum will hold activities for all ages. Make memories that will last a lifetime.
Every Monday throughout the summer join the museum for Storytime Trolleys featuring stories about the adventures of trolleys and trains. The reading will be inside one of the historic trolleys and a trolley ride will follow. Every story is different and all ages are welcome. Storytime included with admission.
Throughout the summer guests also can take as many trolley rides as they would like, learning historic information about the museum and each car from period-dressed motormen. Then climb aboard selected trolleys in the Visitor's Center - Get up close and personal with streetcars or interurban cars. Take the controllers and let your imagination “operate.”
Other activities include:
Crafting Station: Make a Motorman Hat, create a trolley fare ticket and make finger print paper trolley cars;
Dress-up Station: Dress up as a motorman or conductor;
Fire Truck Museum: View over 15 fire trucks dating back to 1923;
Special membership packages also available throughout the summer. During the months of July and August members receive free admission to the Lutz Children’s Museum in Manchester, during the month of July receive free admission to the Children’s Museum in West Hartford and receive free admission on regular visiting days and half off admission on special event days for the entire season at Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven. For prices on membership visit www.ct-trolley.org or call the Museum at 860-627-6540.
