Spider Pavilion and Nature Gardens
- see all dates
UPDATE: In an abundance of caution and to align with county and state COVID-19 health precautions, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is voluntarily closing the 2020 Spider Pavilion and Nature Gardens as of November 20.
Tickets and parking reservations will automatically be canceled and refunded.
Wondering who scared away the butterflies? Perhaps the spiders know something about it!
The Natural History Museum welcomes families to the outdoor Spider Pavilion and Nature Gardens as part of the continued first phase of reopening.
The Spider Pavilion features several hundred orbweaver spiders in an outdoor enclosure filled with plants, natural light, and spacious pathways that allow visitors to safely connect with nature in the heart of L.A. This outdoor museum experience gives visitors the opportunity to walk among spiders and their amazing webs, observe enclosed habitats that are home to tarantulas, wolf spiders, and jumping spiders, and talk to educators about the different species, their urban environment, and the natural pest control that spiders provide. Guests can also stroll through NHM's 3.5 acre Nature Gardens.
The Spider Pavilion is open Thursday through Sunday from 11:20am to 5pm. Advance, timed-tickets must be reserved prior to visiting. The number of guests is being limited to provide for physical distancing and a safe environment for guests and staff. See website for additional safety guidelines.
Tickets go live starting October 14, with more tickets released on November 2 for the following three weeks. (Member preview days are October 22-24).
Pre-paid parking reservations are also required and can be made when purchasing Spider Pavilion tickets. Parking costs $6.
