ACORNS Program at East Meadow Farm
- see all dates
Each ACORNS class begins with a physical activity to get the participants ready to learn, and is followed by story time. These weekly sessions offer opportunities to learn more about the world around us, in a nature and agriculturally based outdoor classroom setting. Agriculture Conservation, Outdoor Recreation and Nature Stewardship (ACORNS) program is for 2–5-year-olds. The lessons teach everyday skills the children will find useful. Each class ends with free play. This is where the participants can be creative, meet new peers, and develop those crucial skills of sharing, teamwork, communication, and more.
Sessions: Ages 2-3 from 11am - 12:45pm. Ages 4-5 from 1pm-2:45pm.
NOTE: This is an outdoor program, so please dress for the weather. One caregiver must stay for the entire class. Email nassau@cornell.edu for more details about each lesson.
