Chicago Architecture Center Family Programs
As a national leader in architecture education, the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) explores the fundamentals of architecture and design through hands-on experiences for all ages. The CAC offers many of its education programs—and all of its programs for teens—at no cost to participants.
- The Newhouse Architecture + Design Competition is an opportunity to showcase the talents of Chicago-area students who create projects that solve real-world problems.
- Girls Build! brings middle school participants together virtually with women changing urban landscapes through green design.
- Teen Saturday Studios are free three-hour programs introducing teens to career pathways in architecture and the adjacent fields.
- Programs emphasize critical thinking through real-world design challenges in the places where people live and learn.
- Teen Fellows offers Chicago high school students the chance to explore architecture and design careers, earn college credit and work alongside industry professionals.
- Engineering Fest is a free annual event where kids meet engineers and engage in hands-on activities to learn how architecture and engineering partner to create cities we know and love
