Lawrenceville hosts ten fun-filled days to ring in the holidays. Each day offers a different event starting with The Lighting of the Great Tree on the lawn of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse on Thursday, November 28.
Thursday, November 28th: Lighting of the Great Tree
Friday, November 29: Black Friday, deals and discounts throughout downtown shops and restaurants
Saturday, November 30: Send letters to Santa through Mrs. Claus’s Mailbox at T & T Plants from 12 pm to 5 pm, and enjoy live music on the square while supporting local businesses during Small Business Saturday.
Sunday, December 1: Families can explore a Winter Wonderland at Crogan Plaza, beside the Lawrenceville Arts Center, from 2 pm to 6 pm, complete with snow-covered grounds and entertainment by DJ Cozy Shawn.
Monday, December 2: Monday, The Festival of Trees at the Lawrenceville Arts Center, where attendees can vote for their favorite tree by donating nonperishable groceries, toys, or pet supplies.
Tuesday, December 3: How the Grinch Stole Christmas comes to life with
Booksh-elves at Liberty Books from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm with a special reading by Mayor David Still at 5:45 pm.
Wednesday, December 4: Experience Carols in the DTL from 6 pm to 8 pm as local groups fill the square with festive music.
Thursday, December 5: It’s a Wrap at Cosmo’s on Crogan from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, where Beyond the Ribbon will provide gift-wrapping supplies in exchange for donated goods.
Friday, December 6: Highlight of the series: The highly anticipated Santaverse™ Story Party with The Elf on the Shelf and Friends at the Lawrenceville Lawn. From 5 pm to 8 pm, visitors can enjoy a magical evening filled with festive vendors, marshmallow roasting, holiday art activities, and a screening of Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale, plus a special reading by Chanda A. Bell, co-author of The Elf on the Shelf. Then, join in the fun with Mickey’s Christmas Sing-Along and settle in for a cozy screening of Elf starring Will Ferrell, adding a memorable dose of holiday magic.
Saturday, December 7: The festivities conclude on Saturday, December 7th, with two cherished events. Begin the day at Break Coffee Roasters with The Man in Red, where guests can enjoy coffee and photos with Santa from 10 am to 12 pm. That evening, immerse yourself in the beauty of Aurora Theatre’s Noche de Velas at the Lawrenceville Arts Center starting at 6 pm. This free event, inspired by Colombian holiday traditions, features music, food, and a breathtaking candlelight celebration to bring the community together in the spirit of the season.
