Decatur’s doing it up BIG for the monumental 200th birthday! Saturday we’re getting the excitement pumping with an early morning fun run. Then, in the afternoon, we’ll have a vibrant community parade and giant birthday party on the Square. We're pulling out all the stops — live music, delicious food, games, face painting, stilt walkers, and, wait for it, 200 cupcakes!
Plus, hear some of the 200 Stories the city has collected to preserve and document the history of our community. End the night with a dazzling display of fireworks. Return Sunday for a captivating journey through time. Decatur’s Bicentennial History Tour will explore the city's two centuries of rich heritage and history. Knowledgeable guides will lead you through significant landmarks and share fascinating stories and anecdotes.
