If you haven’t explored San Jose with kids yet, you’re in for a surprise. This South Bay city often flies under the radar, but it’s packed with family-friendly gems, think hands-on museums, giant playgrounds, quirky local history, and even a few wild peacocks. Whether you’ve got toddlers who love trains or tweens who crave techy fun, San Jose has something for every age (and energy level). As a local parent, I’ve spent plenty of weekends testing out these spots with my crew, and this list is full of go-tos, hidden gems, and places worth the drive.
From indoor bounce zones to gorgeous hiking trails and immersive science museums, here are some fun things to do with kids in and around San Jose. Check them out, make a list, and start making plans!

Summer is not over yet, and there are so many things to do in a Los Angeles August! It's a great time to enjoy outdoor movies & concerts, summer festivals, and the best beach days.
A Los Angeles August is that crazy time of year when the height of heat and summer fun collides with back-to-school, and parents need to turn the dial up on the end-of-summer fun. Luckily, the events and outings in Los Angeles this month do not disappoint, and there are loads of amazing activities to do before the school bell rings, and many of them are free.
Monster trucks zoom into August at Monster Jam at Crypto.com Arena and the Hot Wheels Trucks Live Glow Party. Culver City's annual Fiesta La Ballona returns for some end-of-summer fun. And it's no trick: this year's August celebrations include Halloween, as both Midsummer Scream and Disney's Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party get the spooky season off to an early start.

School is starting in Atlanta, but that doesn't mean summer fun is over! August in Atlanta is a great time to enjoy outdoor movies and concerts, summer festivals, and cool events.
August brings fun family events like the Sandy Springs Back to School Bash as well as the Piedmont Park Arts Festival in Midtown. The City of Kennesaw parties with the community at its yummy August event, Pigs and Peaches BBQ Festival, which includes music, a kids' zone, and delicious barbecue.
