Looking for the best things to do in New York City this weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list for Presidents Day weekend.

The long Presidents Day weekend ahead segues right into Midwinter Break, and NYC is up for the challenge. How to keep the kids occupied, you ask? Head to CMOM for Lunar New Year crafts, including Chinese paper lanterns and Korean kite making, launch the family into Winter Games in Dumbo, and dance with the lions in Chinatown during the Lunar New Year Parade. The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater is reopening this weekend, too, with a brand new show, Wake Up, Daisy! Presidents get their due at Fraunces Tavern's annual open house and the Brooklyn Children's Museum dedicates this week to a Black Future Fest.

Meanwhile, the weekend kicks off kids week at the Intrepid, in Bryant Park, and at local parks throughout the city.

Remember, our Winter Fun Guide is a jam-packed resource heading into the week off. We've also got a list of fun things to do over February Break and 25 picks for the week that are completely FREE.

Be sure to check with each venue for its COVID guidelines and requirements before heading out to any event, and read more about local public safety protocols here; some events are getting canceled or postponed at the last minute, so always confirm details before departing.
