Circus Abyssinia Springs Into Town with Action-Packed Tulu at the New Victory Theater

Circus Abyssinia's brand-new spectacle Tulu leaves you wanting more—in the best possible way. The exhilarating Ethiopian troupe returns to the New Victory Theater with Tulu, a cavalcade of gravity-defying athletic acts in tribute to the legendary long-distance runner Derartu Tulu, the first African woman to win an Olympic gold medal. Featuring a cast of nine and running just an hour, Tulu is smaller and more intimate than Circus Abyssinia's last eye-popping extravaganza, Ethiopian Dreams, which played at the New Vic in 2018. But there are benefits to the scaled-down scope, especially for families. Because of the abbreviated running time, very young theatergoers likely won't get fidgety and audiences of all ages will be in awe of the performers' versatility!

Read on to find out about the fabulous feats you'll see and find all our top New Victory picks this season in our Guide to Children's Theater in NYC.

Inside the New Bronx Children's Museum Now Open in the South Bronx

Beautiful murals and stunning hands-on exhibits inspired by its home borough welcome visitors at the long-awaited Bronx Children's Museum.

It's a big day for the itty-bitty residents of the Boogie Down borough: The long-awaited Bronx Children's Museum has finally opened its brick-and-mortar location after more than a decade of offering programming to area residents as a museum without walls. The opening of the Bronx Children's Museum gives the borough its first museum dedicated to young New Yorkers.

We visited the sparkling new space on opening day and had enough fun exploring the 13,000-plus-square-foot educational play space that my daughter joyfully proclaimed it her new favorite museum when we exited and gushed that she was excited it was so close to home. I'm sure she's not the only one feeling this way after exploring its eye-popping murals, sprawling water table, and Bronx-inspired exhibits

Read on for the details on this new kiddie haven located in the South Bronx, including how to nab your FREE-for-now tickets. One visit was enough to convince us it belongs on our list of the city's best children's museums to visit with kids. Discovering Sloomoo Institute Atlanta: The Sticky Facts of a Slime Museum

Kids and adults will love the multi-sensory experience of Sloomoo Institute Atlanta.

There's nothing more enticing to a child than a blob of sticky, stretchy, soothing slime; and they can get oodles of the gooey stuff at Sloomoo Institute Atlanta. This mecca of slime is a wacky experience that pays homage to the best of Elmer's Glue. Kids will fan out over the amount and variety of slime, showcased in cool, colorful ways at Sloomoo Institute. And parents will love the fact that all the slime experimentation stays at the Institute and not stuck in their carpet.

My young daughters are definitely working on their doctorates in Slimeology, and by attending Sloomoo Institute Atlanta, their passion in the sticky science has only increased! I can only hope these little graduates go on to make their alma mater proud by coming up with even more insane slime inventions...in our backyard.
