Survival: The Exhibition Brings Real-World Lessons to City Kids

Survival: The Exhibition teaches kids hands-on skills to overcome real-world emergencies.

If you've lived in the urban jungle long enough, it's easy to wonder whether you'd know what to do if you got lost in a forest. Could you find your way to safety if you got swept away by a river's current? What would you pack if you only had a few minutes to evacuate when a disaster strikes? Answers to these questions and more can be learned with a visit to Survival: The Exhibition, a new exhibit at the New York Hall of Science.

Read on for all the details and how to score tickets to the timed-entry exhibit, which not only teaches life lessons but also builds STEM skills and even includes a ropes course and zip line.

Superpowered Metropolis Debuts at CMOM

Strike a power pose with new friends Zip, Zap, and Zoom.

Big things are happening at the Children's Museum of Manhattan. The museum we already love for so many reasons has opened two new exhibits in the past six weeks, including the just-introduced Superpowered Metropolis: Early Learning City, which debuted over the weekend.

The exhibit takes over the ground floor space, bringing to life a trio of super-hero inspired pigeons who are ready to lead the institution's youngest visitors on an interactive, city-inspired journey meant to build early learning lessons and set them up for success in school and beyond.

Read on for an introduction to the new feathered friends, Zip, Zap, and Zoom and to learn more about this exhibit that's big fun for little kids and their grownups.

Toys R Us is Back in Houston With A Playground, Games & More Ways for Kids to Play

Toys R Us is back in Houston and kids can now live out their dreams playing with just about every toy in the store at the new hands-on concept. After closing all locations in 2018, the new version of the store re-opened inside The Galleria Houston in December 2019. The re-imagined Toys R Us features interactive areas where kids can try out the toys available for purchase. While not every single toy is available for play, the store is broken up into sections for kids to explore different types of toys and play until their heart's content. Visiting the store is the perfect way to entertain your kids indoors and let them blow off some steam during a day of shopping.
