Best In-Person Coding Classes for Kids in Los Angeles
1. Digital Dragon — Santa Monica
Digital Dragon offers both in-person and online classes in 8-week sessions. Classes are offered for topics like Roblox and Minecraft, plus there are options for private instruction. Kids ages 5-18 can pick from a huge selection of topics including designing 3-D video games, programming, robotics, creating apps, producing and shooting YouTube videos, Roblox, and Minecraft. Camps are available in the summer.
2. PlanetBravo — Burbank
PlanetBravo offers some of the best (according to kids!) coding camps in town, and starting in December, they will offer in-person courses in Multimedia, Video Game Design, Visual Arts Production, and Pro Concepts.

3. theCoderSchool — Pasadena, Irvine, Yorba Linda, Cerritos
theCoderSchool has multiple locations for maximum convenience, and kids can take coding classes or attend coding camps year-round, in-person and online. The classes are for kids ages 7 to 18 and any skill level. No matter your child's experience, these programs are designed to take them to the next level, with a super-small teaching ratio and an individualized immersion-style that centers around mentor relationships with experienced coders.
4. Code Ninjas — Multiple locations
Code Ninjas has awesome programs available for the youngest future programmers! Kids age 5 to 7 learn to code while building their own video games. Kids gain problem-solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment at after-school classes and summer camps at hundreds of locations in the US (dozens of which happen to be in the Southland, so there's one near you!).
5. Computerwisekids — Woodland Hills
Computerwise Tech Center offers classes for kids from the grades of Kindergarten to 8th grade. The classes include Minecraft Club, Coding Beginners, Typing Proficiency, and more. Classes are an hour long and last for eight weeks. Online classes are available, as well.

6. Code Galaxy
Code Galaxy has online coding classes for kids of all ages, teaching topics like Minecraft, Scratch, HTML, JavaScript, Python, and more. Students meet remotely with an expert coder from their laptops at home. Through this program, kids build a portfolio of projects while learning the basics of coding.
7. Skyfi Labs
Skyfi Labs divides its online courses between topics like Robotics, Coding, and Drones. The online classes are taught 1-on-1 with teachers that are experts in their field. These hands-on online courses are for kids over the age of eight.
8. UCode
The beauty of UCode is that the 60-minute courses have just six students per course, so you know your child is getting lots of individual attention. The courses include Intro to Coding, Python Coding Classes, and HTML/CSS Coding for Kids. Classes are for kids ages 6 to 17 and last about an hour. As a bonus, you can take a free trial class to be sure that UCode is right for your child.
9. iD Tech
Classes like Coding, Game Development, Robotics, and more are offered at iD Tech. Some of the most popular classes are the ones that specialize in creating a Minecraft world or your own Roblox game, with a wide variety of courses offered in between. Courses are for kids from the age of 7 to 19, broken down by age and skill level.
10. CodeWizardsHQ
CodeWizards online classes are for kids ages 8 to 18. The courses are broken down by "Wizard Level," with each level and age group taking on new and different topics that range from Animation and Games with Scratch up to Object Oriented Programming.
11. CodeVerse
Kids ages 6 to 13 learn programming and coding skills by doing, not just practicing. These courses are taught in 50-minute increments, giving kids personalized classes that take their abilities to the next level.
