Free Museum Days in Los Angeles are ideal for a large family. Museum tickets add up fast—which gets particularly frustrating if you need a hasty retreat to avoid a meltdown. Los Angeles has some fantastic museums with free general admission every day of the year, including The Getty, California Science Center, and The Broad. 

As for the rest of them, many LA museums and gardens have monthly, or even weekly, free days or evenings, and we collected a list below for easy reference. Go ahead, bring the extended family, meet friends, or check out a place you have never been before—all for just the price of parking or Metro tickets. And if there's a meltdown? At least it's free. 

Remember, these are only the museums that require you to mark your calendar for the monthly free day. Winter Magic Awaits at Domino Square, Home to the Newest Ice Skating Rink in NYC

The Domino Square ice rink has a small footprint, but its big-city views are impressive.

A new ice-skating rink with stunning riverfront views is drawing families to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Skate at Domino Park debuted in early December and offers ice skating fun through the middle of March. Situated atop of Domino Square, a newly completed section of Domino Park, the icy attraction is drawing families from both sides of the East River and beyond.

Atlanta families can enjoy MLK weekend with many options for quality time and fun; after all, MLK Day celebrations in Atlanta are abundant as our city is the birthplace of Dr. King. Families honor his legacy by volunteering as part of the MLK National Day of Service and attending MLK parades and events in Buckhead, Atlanta, Acworth, Lawrenceville, and more cities. If your kids haven't had the pleasure of ice skating this season (or want to do it again), this is the final weekend at many outdoor rinks, including Atlantic Station, Sandy Springs, and Avalon.
