The tall ships are coming! From June 17 to 22, the city's inner harbor will be filled with more than 50 historic vessels from around the world for the first time since 2000. Sail Boston will be an impressive sight that will wow kids (and teach them a thing or two about our city's rich maritime history), but you'll want to do some planning before setting a course for the waterfront next week. Here's the scoop on how to enjoy the show with little landlubbers in tow.

As you approach Niantic on the highway, you can begin to smell the fresh sea air. Niantic is one of several little sea towns in Connecticut that will make you wonder if you are still in the same state. Filled with history, cute little shops, places to eat, and places to play, including a great children's museum - it's a great day trip.

What better way to celebrate all the wonderful things dad does (and grandpa too!) than with a day full of things he enjoys. Whether that's getting outdoors to fish, hike, cheer on the Phillies, or play with the kids at an amusement park or museum, there's lots to do to celebrate Dad this June 18th.   

Since its inception over 50 years ago, Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival (a.k.a. the Clearwater Festival) has grown from a small nomadic folk gathering into a massive annual environmental celebration. Founded in 1966 by Toshi and Pete Seeger, the Clearwater Festival draws thousands of visitors to the shores of the Hudson River for a family-friendly weekend of music, dance, storytelling, theater, hands-on learning, water activities, arts and environmental education in Croton-on-Hudson's Croton Point Park.

All proceeds from this groundbreaking festival—which made our June GoList—go directly to protecting, preserving and sustaining the river through the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc. nonprofit organization. After taking last year off, the 2017 fest is returning June 17-18, and it's a great way to teach kids about protecting our planet while having a lot of fun.

There is no shortage of playgrounds and parks in Westchester, and each year our kids love visiting their old favorites for what feels like a new trip down the slide.

Nothing rocks a young kid's world, however, than venturing to see a brand-new playground, in which the paint is still bright and everything remains in perfect working order. J. Harvey Turnure Memorial Park in White Plains recently received a $500,000 facelift, so we enlisted the help of one 6-year-old playground expert to check it out and see if it's a worthy destination for Westchester families.
