Here’s the scoop on the latest ice cream trend: There is no scoop. If you’re looking for something other than your typical ice cream shop this spring and summer, take the kids to try ice cream rolls. Rolled ice cream started in Thailand and, lucky for us, many shops have opened right here in New York City.

This spring NYC is filled with great activities and events for preschoolers. From carousels and Easter celebrations to a ladybug release, once you step outside into that sun (that we hear is coming!) you won't want to come back in. Of course, we expect some spring showers, so don't forget about cool theater and museums, including the return of Brick Fest Live, a new circus, and the debut of Gulliver's Gate, the miniature model city going up near Times Square.

The Second Avenue subway is New York City’s first new subway line in more than 50 years, and yes, we're excited about it! Many fun kid places on the far Upper East Side are often too much of a haul for little legs to travel from Lexington Avenue subway stops without the aid of strollers, carriers, and maybe an afternoon nap (for parent and baby!).
Thankfully, the Q has been extended along Second Avenue to 96th Street with this first phase of the subway expansion, giving us quicker access to many wonderful kid- and family-friendly hot spots highlighted for you here.
