From New Year's Day to MLK weekend, January can be a great time for indoor and outdoor activities in Atlanta. Don’t miss our favorite kid-friendly events and activities in Atlanta in January.

As we remember Atlanta's own Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this month, kids can learn about Dr. King's legacy by participating in events around the city, like those in Lawrenceville and Buckhead, on MLK Day (Monday, January 16). Also, MLK Day is a National Day of Service, which is a great time to get your kids involved in service projects throughout Atlanta, like feeding the community and cleaning public spaces. 

Winter fun continues as families hit ice skating rinks, like Avalon on Ice and Skate the Station at Atlantic Station, wrapping up for the season mid-January. Even if we don't get real snow in Atlanta, Southern kids can tube downhill at License to Chill at Margaritaville through the end of February. Before we say hello to 2023, it's time to remember our favorites from the last year with the best of 2022 - Boston kid edition. We're lucky to live in and around Boston, where activities for kids and family-friendly events occur every week. Boston's attractions and live shows in 2022 kept kids entertained and families coming back for more. From LEGO art to the wonder of sharks and live shows, 2022 was another great year. Our Best of 2022 - Boston Kids Edition also features some of the best events of 2022 from around the country. And there is so much more to come in 2023! Sugar Sand Park: South Florida’s Best Kept Secret Playground Plus Free Science Museum

There are parks and then there are parks, and Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton definitely falls into the latter category—guaranteed to blow your kids away and keep them entertained for hours. Located right off I-95 between Miami and West Palm Beach, this park is truly a local gem. Features include a gigantic, all-inclusive playground with a splash pad in the middle, as well as a free science museum for children.  But that's not all! The 132-acre park also has a carousel and a theater with regular family programming.

Before we put this year in our rear-view, we thought we'd take a moment to remember the best openings, happenings, and more with a Connecticut kid edition of he Best of 2022. From immersive art to dinosaur fun, there were new exhibits and attractions to delight Connecticut families in 2022. A family favorite added a new holiday experience, while the Beardsley Zoo's Centennial brought a host of events to town. These attractions brought some wonderful experiences and great memories for kids in Connecticut. And while we look forward to more family fun in 2023, we remember 2022 with the best of Connecticut and the top openings and happenings from around the country.
