Sid the Science Kid: The Super-Duper Exhibit is now open at the Please Touch Museum. This awesome exhibit features a complete reproduction of the sets from the fantastic PBS Kid’s show, making it the largest-ever temporary exhibit to come to the beloved children’s museum. The exhibit includes five hands-on areas that have interesting ways for kids to engage in STEM-learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Throughout the exhibit your little scientists will be encouraged to ask questions, explore, test theories, and play while taking part in interactive lessons that tackle basic science questions. Designed for ages 2-8, the exhibit is also full of good old-fashioned fun, with climbing structures and slides.

YMCA Offers Affordable Day Camps, Sleepaway Camps, and Specialty Summer Programs for All Ages

With more than twenty locations that proudly served a combined total of over 12,000 young New Yorkers last year alone, you're unlikely to make it through all those parenting listserv threads about summer coverage without coming across YMCA's much-loved camps. Offering fun-filled early childhood options for tots, traditional sleepaway options for tweens and teens, and specialty programs focusing on everything from STEAM to soccer, it's no surprise the popular programming has been a hit with parents and kids across the city since 1885.

Glen Ivy Hot Springs: Where Playing in the Mud Is a Treat for Mama

Kids love getting into mud about as much as moms usually dread the sight of it. But don't make the mistake of reducing mud to a simple laundry nightmare. LA mamas have long found the mud baths at Glen Ivy Hot Springs to be rejuvenating, good for their skin and, yes, even fun to play in. You could invite your so-grown-up teen to take a spa day with you (no one under 16 allowed!), or you could just leave the posse with Papa and run for the hills on your own. Either way, a day escape to Glen Ivy Spa is an Angeleno secret worth knowing.

Diggerland: A New Jersey Theme Park for Construction-Loving Kids

If your kids can't get enough of trucks and dirt, head to Diggerland USA, a construction-themed amusement park in West Berlin. Diggerland is a child's construction-site fantasy, with a setup designed to fulfill the dreams of little builders ages 2 and up.

My 2-year-old son and I recently took the ride to West Berlin to see what it was all about, and we had a blast. However, we'll probably wait another year before returning so as to avoid the temptations of the rides he wasn't big enough to go on just yet. That said, if you're looking for a unique alternative to traditional amusement parks this summer, a trip to Diggerland is definitely in order.

One of Boston's most iconic winter landmarks is set to get a sweet makeover this weekend—just in time for Valentine's Day! As if we weren't already smitten with the blue-lit trellis that adds a magical glow to the North End waterfront, the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP), led by curator Robyn Reed, have been busy transforming it into a "Tunnel of Love" that will be open to the public starting Feburary 10 and through the rest of the month. Families with kids of all ages are invited to come to the park for the tunnel's official unveiling between 4pm to 9pm this Saturday to stroll through the revamped trellis, post for selfies with specially designed "cupid wings," and enjoy a few sweet surprises.
