After fulfilling a childhood dream of one day living in a high-rise building in a big city (eight years in L.A. and 10 in Manhattan), Mary Beth is now partially fulfilling another childhood dream. As a kid, she envisioned her four gorgeous children running through the idyllic countryside while she created pottery in her studio. Well, fast forward 30 years and there is no pottery studio and only two kids but she has the idyllic countryside part down. After studying business and art, and then working in corporate marketing, graphic design as well as event planning and development, Mary Beth is now happily blogging. Always thrilled to find a great family-friendly event to share, being the editor of CT Mommy Poppins is right up her alley.

How stressful is the end of the school year? Let me count the ways. Oh sure, there's the silver lining coming of not having to drive to school or argue about homework for 10 blissful weeks; but blissful loses its luster pretty quickly in the face of, "What are we going to do today?"—particularly if you already know that what YOU need to do doesn't involve playgrounds or beaches. We know we should have figured out summer camp by now, really we do. We have a stack of flyers for neat-o programs that are probably filled up already with kids whose parents got on this weeks ago.
Summer vacation may be staring you in the face, but there's no need to panic; all of the camps listed below still have availability as of this publish date. Some of the programs even allow families to book by the day, for ultimate spontaneity.

Ahhhh.... We are soaking up every minute of the warmer temps, sunny skies, and new blossoms now that spring is here. This week leads up to Earth Day and their are plenty of ways to celebrate nature. Taking the kids for a hike and to one of these fun events are great ways to appreciate the planet. See some rare specimens, learn all about frogs, and head out to one of the first spring carnivals of the season.
