In 2025, the holiday falls on Wednesday, January 29, and city kids can mark this cultural holiday with family-friendly celebrations citywide, from Chinatown's firecracker ceremony to a Lunar New Year celebration at the Queens Botanical Garden and the spectacular New York City Lunar New Year Parade and Festival on Sunday, February 16.
