Looking for the best things to do in Los Angeles over the Christmas weekend? Here are some events and activities to add to your list for this holiday weekend.
Merry Christmas weekend, folks! The gift to us all in 2025 has been the abundance of activities to enjoy in Los Angeles, including holiday festivities, light shows, Nutcrackers, and theme park celebrations everywhere you turn. A few suggestions that'll make spirits bright over the Christmas weekend: many theme parks are open on Christmas Day, like Holidays at Disneyland Resort, so there's still time to catch these holiday favorites before they're gone for the season.
This weekend is also your last chance to ride The Southern California Polar Express Train Ride, or walk through the twinkling lights of Holiday Road Walk-Thru at King Gillette Ranch and Santa Anita's Enchant Los Angeles. However you choose to celebrate, happy holidays from all of us at Mommy Poppins!

Snow Play Near Los Angeles: 16 Places LA Families Can Pretend It's Winter
Submitted by Arianna Menon on

Snow play near Los Angeles, you ask? There's no snow in Los Angeles, and nobody walks in LA. Two truisms that actually aren't true! Most of us live in LA because we love the mild weather. It's fun to Facetime relatives freezing in Michigan from the pool in March.
When the rest of the country is covered in fresh white powder, we wish for a day of snow play near Los Angeles. If you or your little snow angels are longing for a day of building snowmen, sledding, snow tubing, and more, all it takes is a drive to higher elevations. The whole family can experience the thrill of winter sports, explore alpine landscapes, and take in the magic of winter for the day.

Our holidays get a Mexican spin at the Soraya's annual Nochebuena Christmas Spectacular; this year's show welcomes Mexican actress & singer Ximena Sariñana. And we celebrate the last of Hanukkah's eight crazy nights, with menorah lighting ceremonies at Lomita City Hall, the Reagan Library, and more!
